FIK UNP Lecturer Trusted as Talent Scouting for Mentawai Islands Futsal Team Ahead of West Sumatra Porprov 2026
The Faculty of Sports Science of Padang State University has once again shown a real contribution in the development of regional sports through the assignment of one of its lecturers as Talent Scouting for the Mentawai Islands Regency Futsal Team. FIK UNP's coaching lecturer, Bram Sujadesman, M.Pd., was trusted to carry out this task in preparation for the 2026 West Sumatra Porprov.

This assignment was based on an official request letter from the Mentawai Islands Regency Futsal Association (AFK Mentawai) addressed to the Dean of FIK UNP. In its request, AFK Mentawai requested the support of professionals who have competence in the field of futsal coaching and coaching to capture and map the potential of regional futsal athletes objectively and measurably.
Bram Sujadesman, M.Pd., carried out the following duties talent scouting at the BPR Sipora Cup 2026 Open Tournament which took place on February 6-8, 2026 at Konoha Futsal Field, North Sipora District, Mentawai Islands Regency. This tournament is a strategic agenda in the athlete selection process and the formation of a regional futsal team that will be prepared for the 2026 West Sumatra Porprov.
The Dean of FIK UNP, Prof. Dr. Nurul Ihsan, S.Pd., M.Pd., welcomed the trust given to the academic community of FIK UNP.
"The assignment of FIK UNP lecturers as talent scouting is a form of scientific contribution from universities in supporting regional sports coaching. We hope that this collaboration will be able to produce potential futsal athletes while strengthening sustainable coaching," said the Dean of FIK UNP.
The involvement of FIK UNP lecturers in the process of selecting futsal athletes reflects the strong synergy between universities and regional sports organizations. From the perspective of sustainable development in higher education, this activity is in line with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through the development of healthy sports achievements, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the contextual application of sports coaching knowledge, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthening partnerships between universities and sports associations.
Through the active role of the lecturer as talent scoutingFIK UNP continues to emphasize its position as an institution that not only excels in the development of sports science, but also directly contributes to improving regional sports achievements to a more competitive level.
