Faculty of Sport Science Collaborates with PT LIB to Discuss Sport Industrialization and VAR Technology

Padang, August 26, 2025 - A meeting between the dean of the Faculty of Sports Science (FIK) Prof. Dr. Nurul Ihsan, M.Pd. and Mr. Hanif Marjuni, as Media and Communication Manager of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB). Having a warm discussion about the strategic agenda to advance the world of sports in the country, especially in welcoming the National Sports Day (Haornas) on September 9, 2025.

The main purpose of this discussion is to establish synergy between the academic world and the sports industry. The goals include improving the quality of human resources in the field of sports, as well as encouraging innovation and the application of technology in the development of sports in Indonesia. This meeting also aims to formulate programs that provide direct benefits for FIK students and graduates, while increasing the competitiveness of the national sports industry.

One of the main focuses is organizing the National Sports Seminar in collaboration with PT LIB (I-League). The seminar themed "Industrialization and Job Opportunities" aims to provide in-depth insight into the potential of the sports industry and open career opportunities for FIK students and graduates. This seminar is expected to be a forum for academics, practitioners, and stakeholders to exchange ideas and formulate sustainable sports development strategies.

In addition, the plan to organize a workshop on Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology was also discussed. The Dean of FIK welcomes this initiative, hoping that the workshop can provide students, lecturers, and soccer players in the regions with a better understanding of the use of VAR technology in matches. Thus, the quality and integrity of soccer competitions in Indonesia can be further improved.

On this occasion, the dean of FIK also proposed inviting a national figure who has great attention to the world of sports as a keynote speaker at the national seminar. The presence of this national figure is expected to provide inspiration and motivation for seminar participants, as well as provide a broad view of the direction of sports development in Indonesia. Mr. Hanif Marjuni welcomed all proposals and input, expressed PT LIB's commitment to continue to support the development of sports science in Indonesia, and hoped that this collaboration could make a positive contribution to the progress of sports in the country. It is hoped that this seminar can become a forum for academics, practitioners, and other stakeholders to exchange ideas and formulate sports development strategies. The meeting ended with a spirit of optimism and hope that the collaboration between FIK and PT LIB will be closer and more sustainable. (FM)
