FIK UNP sent 2 lecturers to Melaka, Malaysia as participants in the "Specializing in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation" activity.

Padang, 24 July -2025, FIK UNP under the leadership of Prof.Dr.Nurul Ihsan sent two lecturers in the Department of Health and Recreation namely Dr. Ilham, S.Or., M.Or. and Dr. Liza, S.Si., M.Pd, who have expertise in the field of sports therapy and rehabilitation, following the Advance Clinical Gait Course | Series 1 activities held at PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre, Melaka, Malaysia, on 22-23 July 2025.

The advanced training successfully brought together professionals from Malaysia and Indonesia, including orthopedic doctors, pediatric orthopedists, sports scientists, biomechanics experts, physiotherapists, and clinical practitioners from various leading hospitals and educational institutions.

This program was made possible with the support of:
ESMAC -European Society for Movement Analysis in Adults and Children, PERKESO Rehabilitation Center, Malaysia Summit Features Sdn Bhd, please note this training was guided by world experts in the field of clinical gait analysis, namely: Dr. Tamaya Van Criekinge (Maastricht University), ESMAC Instructor, Dr. Patricia Van de Walle (University of Antwerp), ESMAC Instructor

Both participants received hands-on training using the latest technology in gait analysis, such as: Vicon Motion Capture System, AMTI (Advanced Mechanical Technology, Inc.) Force Platform, Wireless EMG System from Cometa srl, These technologies were installed at PERKESO Rehabilitation Center by Summit Features Sdn Bhd.

The Dean of FIK UNP said that the participation of the two FIK UNP lecturers showed UNP's commitment to increasing academic and professional capacity in the fields of movement science, sports rehabilitation, and evidence-based therapeutic practices. Their involvement is also part of efforts to strengthen cross-country collaboration and the development of rehabilitation science in the Southeast Asia region.
