FIK UNP Makes International Achievements Through Global Scale Scientific Outputs

The Faculty of Sport Science of Padang State University (FIK UNP) continues to strengthen its reputation as a superior higher education institution in the field of sport science, both at the national and international levels. Through the organization of the first University Sport Consortium International (USCI) in 2024.

FIK UNP scored an extraordinary achievement by producing a total of 136 scientific articles that were successfully indexed in the Scopus reputable database. The output achievement consists of:
110 articles that have been published in the Annals of Applied Sports Science journal (Scopus Q3),
26 articles in Sport TK journals (Scopus Q3),
Another 20 articles are currently in the process of publication in the journals IJKSS (Scopus Q3) and Fizjoterapia Polska (Scopus Q4).

"This success is the result of international research collaboration between Universitas Negeri Padang (Indonesia), University of Malaya, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (Malaysia), and Bataan Peninsula State University (Philippines). This partnership strengthens the position of FIK UNP as a center of excellence in the development of sports science at the global level.

The Dean of FIK said further, in a series of activities The 9th International Conference of Sport Science, Health, and Recreation which will be held on June 18-19, 2025, FIK UNP again prepared a significant scientific contribution. Together with international journal partners, the FIK UNP publication team has collaborated with journals to publish the following:
a. 10 articles in Ido Movement for Culture (Scopus Q2),
b. 70 articles in Annals of Applied Sports Science (Scopus Q3),
c. 15 articles in International Journal of Human Movement and Sports Sciences (Scopus Q3),
d. 40 articles in Sport TK (Scopus Q3),
e. And about 20 additional articles in SINTA 2 accredited national journals.

With a total of 145 scientific articles in the form of journals, FIK UNP shows consistency as an institution that encourages research-based academic culture and international publications.

Not only superior in publications, FIK UNP also recorded a proud achievement through the ranking of study programs based on UNP's internal SINTA performance.

Based on the latest data, several study programs in FIK UNP occupy the top 10 positions in the Padang State University environment, namely:
1. Bachelor of Sports Science: 2nd in UNP
2. S1 Sports Coaching Education: ranked 4th in UNP
3. S3 Sports Science: ranked 6th in UNP
4. S1 Physical Education, Health and Recreation (Penjaskesrek)
ranked 7th in UNP
This ranking reflects the high contribution of FIK lecturers and researchers in producing scientific works, community service, and other academic activities as measured through the SINTA (Science and Technology Index) platform.

With this series of achievements, FIK UNP not only appears as a prime mover in the development of research-based sports, but also as a role model in academic collaboration and strengthening the quality of education at the institutional level.
