West Sumatra Perbasasi Pengprov Collaborates with FIK UNP, Aiming for PON Achievements in Softball and Baseball Sports

Padang, Secretary of the Provincial Board (Pengprov) of the Indonesian Amateur Baseball and Softball Association (Perbasasi) West Sumatra Esnetti, S.Pd. and his entourage paid a working visit to the Faculty of Sports Science (FIK) Padang State University (UNP) on Friday, January 10, 2024. This visit was in order to establish cooperation and socialize softball and baseball sports to FIK UNP students, as a preparatory step towards the next National Sports Week (PON). The group was warmly welcomed by Dean Prof. Dr. Nurul Ihsan, M.Pd. and Vice Dean I Dr. Padli, S.Si., M.Pd., as well as one of the FIK professors who will help Pengprov Perbasasi Prof. Dr. Damrah, M.Pd.

Representative of Pengprov Perbasasi West Sumatra, Fazriel Ale [Baseball Director], expressed his hope that socialization can be done directly to students. "We hope this collaboration can produce talented athletes from among FIK UNP students". In addition, Deno I. F [Softball Director] "This direct socialization is very important to capture the interests and talents of students, while preparing a stronger West Sumatra team to face the upcoming PON," he said.

Dean of FIK UNP, Pro. Dr. Nurul Ihsan, M.Pd., welcomed the visit and cooperation. He expressed the readiness of FIK UNP to support the improvement of softball and baseball achievements in West Sumatra. "FIK UNP is very supportive of this program. We will facilitate training for softball and baseball coaches, and invite practitioner lecturers to give lectures directly to students related to this sport," said the Dean of FIK UNP.

This collaboration is expected to produce outstanding athletes who will make West Sumatra proud in the national arena. FIK UNP and Pengprov Perbasasi West Sumatera are committed to collaborating intensively in coaching and developing softball and baseball sports in West Sumatera. Concrete steps such as routine training and recruitment programs for young athletes will be carried out immediately. This visit marks the beginning of a collaboration that is expected to have a positive impact on the development of softball and baseball sports in West Sumatra.
